Outfitter Review Program Overview

NBBC Outfitter Review Program

More Information For Interested Outfitters

You can request to participate in our “outfitter certification” program. This service will only be offered to a handful of selected outfitters across North America. Through this program outfitters are given the opportunity to have their operations reviewed by qualified NBBC representatives. A report will be provided to the outfitter, with assessment and recommendations for improvements, and if appropriate, the outfitter will become certified as a “recommended NBBC outfitter” for our members and measurers. Results of the review and certification can be published in our magazine – Northeast Big Buck News, and here on our website at the outfitters request.

This program is a great way to match NBBC members and measurers with qualified and professional outfitting operations. We think it is a great service for our members, and a great opportunity for North America’s best outfitters to get the recognition they deserve.

How Does The Program Work?

Upon approval, an NBBC Officer or Measurer will be assigned to the outfitter to review his or her operation. As part of the certification process, a hunt or charter is provided at no cost to the reviewer. In return for the donated hunt, the outfitter will receive free advertising in Northeast Big Buck News; will be provided with a written review of their operation within 1 month of the completed hunt; and will be certified as an approved NBBC Outfitter assuming the review produces positive results.

How Does The Review Work?

We will provide the outfitter with a sample of the review criteria, and the scoring system, prior to our review. If the final score for the outfitter meets the minimum requirements (score of 3.0 or better), the outfitter will be certified for a period of 2 years. Recertification procedures will be discussed at a later date.

What Exactly Does The Outfitter Get Out Of This?

1. Written review of their current operation, with recommendations for improvement

(Review contains information about operation, guides, lodging, past success, trophy potential, costs, type of terrain, type of hunting, food, game care, and many other aspects of the hunt and the hunting experience).

2. Free advertising in Northeast Big Buck News (size/type/frequency of ad dependent upon type/value of hunt)

3. If Certified, ongoing listing in Northeast Big Buck News, and on www.bigbuckclub.com as a recommended/certified outfitter for NBBC members

4. Opportunity to distribute brochures to NBBC Members through our membership mailings

5. Potential opportunity to become an NBBC “Annual Hunt” partner

6. Potential opportunity to be featured in an article in Northeast Big Buck News

Is There Any Cost To The Outfitter?

No – this is a FREE service to the outfitter. We ask only that the outfitter donate the hunt/charter for the NBBC reviewer. We do not charge for the service because we can not be "impartial" if money is changing hands. You provide the hunt for free, we provide the service for free. It is that simple.
